LELAM DEVELOPMENT

This master-planned community is located on Musqueam unceded ancestral territory in Vancouver, BC, and is led by the Musqueam Capital Corporation. While it includes residential, retail, and community amenities, what sets this project apart is its deep integration of Musqueam culture, values, and language throughout the

site. Public spaces feature Musqueam art, storytelling, and language to ground

the community in a sense of place and heritage. Lost & Found worked closely with the Musqueam Capital Corporation to develop interpretive and wayfinding signage for this urban development on Musqueam lands. Design elements reflect Musqueam worldviews, traditions, contemporary culture, language, graphic and colour palette, and approaches to materials. Heavy glulam timbers were used to echo architectural features of the development. Aluminum sheet and vinyl maps and graphics provide both a robust but changeable approach to the sign system, allowing for future phase expansion.
