ANVIL CENTRE

CLIENT: City of New Westminster
LOCATION: New Westminster, BC
ARCHITECT: HCMA and MCM
SCOPE: Wayfinding strategy, signage design

Our team designed the wayfinding and signage for this signature building in downtown New Westminster. Working with a large stakeholder group, a brand design firm and two architecture firms, we designed exterior canopy signage, interior directories, directional signage, identity signage and regulatory information signage.

Our design approach relies on simple typography, derived from the building brand, combined with beautiful materials. These include stainless steel, LED-embedded resins, chrome, and simple paint or cut vinyl.

The scope included four levels of public area containing a conference centre, tourist information area, box office, gift store, theatre, archives, art gallery and art studios with two levels of parking.
