FISHERS WALK
CLIENT: City of Richmond
LOCATION: Richmond, BC
SCOPE: Brand identity, signage & wayfinding design, interpretive planning
Tourism Richmond embarked on an ambitious project to enhance wayfinding and storytelling in Steveston’s Fishers Walk through an integrated signage and branding initiative. Lost & Found Design was engaged to develop visual branding, interpretive storytelling, directional wayfinding, interactive ground-plane art, and innovative mural-based storytelling. Our team balanced creativity with durability and selected materials that can withstand ocean front weather conditions year-round and including the reuse of various maritime elements like buoys. A structured review process with the client and civic stakeholders helped to streamline decision making and ensured alignment with project goals. Our team collaborated closely with fabricators to ensure the unique elements met the high quality, complex design and installation requirements.
The Steveston Wayfinding and Interpretive Signage Project is expected to enhance visitor experience, celebrate local heritage, and improve navigation. The thoughtful integration of visual branding, storytelling, and interactive elements will establish Fishers Walk as a memorable cultural destination. This project showcases how strategic design and storytelling can transform a public space into an engaging and educational experience.
